Mandira Ghosh

Author of In Her Footsteps: Legendary Women of India

Mandira Ghosh is a celebrated poet, author, and editor with over twenty-one published books, including The Cosmic Dance of Shiva, Folk Music of the Himalayas, and Shiva and Shakti in Indian Mythology. Her deep admiration for Mahatma Gandhi led her to pen a book on the iconic leader. Mandira is the Guest Editor of Poets of India, a special issue of The Seventh Quarry from Wales, and has received several prestigious awards, such as a Senior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Bravery Award for her contributions to education.

A postgraduate in English Literature, Mandira’s writing spans poetry, book reviews, short stories, and articles published in journals such as Indian Literature, The Seventh Quarry, Setu, and Power Politics. Her work, deeply rooted in Indian ethos, explores diverse topics, from Indian folk music to the cosmic symbolism of Shiva and Shakti. With over two decades of experience as an educator, she has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Bharat Nirman Award and Author of the Year 2022 from the Asian Literary Society.
